Cocoa is to chocolate as olives are to oil: the taste depends on the origin, soil and harvest.

The fact that the olives or beans come each one from one sole plantation allows us to offer unique aromatic notes which evolve with time, resulting in a select uniformity and regularity year after year.

The extra virgin oil best suited to the different cocoas selected is set aside and stored.

In the production of OL CHOCO SAL, we use Masía El Altet extra virgin olive oil of the Picual variety.

Masía el Altet, is a family-run business, dedicated to growing olive trees and to the elaboration of extra virgin olive oils.

The estate, is located between the Font Roja and Sierra de Mariola natural parks, right in the very heart of the mountains of Alcoy, Alicante. The scenery is of extraordinary beauty, full of aromatic plants and autoctonous species, at an altitude of 850 metres above sea level and 30 km from the Mediterrean.

The microclimate is very cold winters and warm summers, bringing to our oils characteristics in quality which are unique and unmistakable.

International Olive Oil Award Zurich / Zurich (Switzerland)

The history of this International Oil Award dates back to 2001, when a group of tasters from the Food and Beverages Institute (ILGI), from the University of Applied Science in Zurich (ZHAW), offered to evaluate the extra virgin oils presented to a competition convened within the Zurich Gourmesse Fair.

At the same time, all oils that are competing can participate in a second contest called Olio, whose jury are the consumers whom, when visiting the Gourmesse Zurich Fair, have had the opportunity to taste and vote for the oils that they consider have the highest quality.

All producers, importers and distributors of extra virgin olive oil that comply with prevailing Swiss or European regulations, can participate, as long as they guarantee availability of at least 1,000 litres of the oil presented in competition.

Each chocolate contains the same amount of fine sea salt.

This salt which comes from the salt pans of the Mediterranean is smooth, crunchy and has a pure, intense flavour.

It has a high natural mineral content due to the characteristics of the sea water, which enhance its flavour. It is collected using traditional techniques and in the traditional way.
